Cameron Nichols serves as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the University of Iowa Track M/W Cross Country and M/W Track and Field programs.
Prior to coming to Iowa, Nichols worked with the University of North Dakota as an Instructor for their Athletic Training Program and worked as the primary Athletic Trainer for M/W Cross Country and M/W Track and Field. He also worked with M/W Tennis, M/W Golf, and Spirit Squad. Prior to UND, he worked with Encore Rehabilitation as the onsite Athletic Trainer for 2 years at Straughn High School (AL). In 2016-17, he completed a year intern position at Jacksonville University in serving as the primary Athletic Trainer for M/W Cross Country, M/W Rowing, and W Track and Field. During the summer of 2015 and summer of 2016 Nichols served as a summer intern with the Denver Broncos Football Club.
Nichols graduated from the University of Arkansas with a master’s in athletic training in 2016. In 2014, he completed his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology – Applied Exercise Science at the University of Arkansas.
Nichols is a native of Jacksonville, Arkansas. He is certified through the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers and licensed through the Iowa Department of Public Health. He is First Aid & CPR certified for Professional Rescuers, Owens Blow Flow Restriction Therapy certified, and is certified in Extremity Manipulations through the Spinal Manipulation Institute.
He enjoys basketball, golfing, and traveling.
