Dr. Britt Marcussen completed his undergraduate and masters degrees in Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Iowa. He subsequently attended medical school at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He completed residency in Family Medicine at St. Francis-Mayo Family Medicine Residency in La Crosse Wisconsin, and completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the University of Iowa. He is currently an Associate Professor of Family Medicine.

His primary clinical interests are exercise physiology and cardiac issues in athletes. He currently participates as a team physician for the men's basketball, men's and women's gymnastics, men’s and women’s tennis and spirit squads at the University of Iowa and Clear Creek Amana High School.
