ATHLETIC TRAINER (WOMEN'S BASKETBALL, WOMEN'S GOLF)
Biography

Andrea joined the athletic training staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Iowa Women’s Basketball and Golf teams in the fall of 2022. Prior to this appointment she was a Senior Associate Athletic Trainer at Central Michigan University with the Women’s Basketball program from 2019-2022. Prior to CMU she was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan with volleyball and softball from 2017-2019. From 2015-2017, she was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with Women’s Basketball and Men’s Soccer. She completed a post-graduate internship at the University of Illinois-Chicago with the Women’s Soccer team as an Assistant Athletic Trainer from 2014-2015. She Earned her BS degree in Athletic Training from Grand Valley State University in 2012 and a MS in Sports Administration in 2014 from Eastern Illinois University while serving as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with Men’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Tennis (2012-2013) and Women’s Rugby, Men’s and Women’s Swimming (2013-2014).

Andrea is NATA BOC Certified and licensed by the Iowa Board of Athletic Training. She is a member of NATA, MAATA and IATS. She is certified by the American Red Cross in CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer, including being a certified instructor. Andrea holds certifications for Structure and Function Dry Needling (SFDN1), Certification in Applied Functional Science, Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization and is an Accredited Clinical Preceptor.

Andrea is a native of Twin Lake, Michigan. She lives in Coralville with her two pet bunnies, Nopal and Pear.
