Brooke Sachau

Biography

Brooke is a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with the University of Iowa’s Men’s and Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country Teams. 

Brooke graduated Summa Cum Laude from the William Paterson University Honors College in May of 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and minors in Health Studies and Clinical Psychology/Neuropsychology. Her Honors thesis was titled “Examining Patient Perspective Towards Healthcare Professionals with Tattoos.” During her time in undergrad, Brooke worked with William Paterson’s football, softball, women’s volleyball, and men’s basketball teams, Rutgers University’s football team, the National Women’s Soccer League Gotham FC, and was a seasonal medical intern for the NFL’s New York Giants. She was also a member of her school’s women’s soccer team, president of her school’s Athletic Training Club, and a teaching assistant for the Honors College.

Brooke is from Somerset, New Jersey. She is BOC certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and licensed through the Iowa Board of Athletic Training. In addition, she is certified through the American Red Cross as a lifeguard and a CPR, AED, and First Aid Instructor. Brooke has sat on both NATA and ATSNJ student committees, promoting the profession of athletic training. While at the University of Iowa, Brooke is pursuing her master’s degree in Health and Human Physiology - Clinical Exercise Physiology.
