Halle Owecke
Halle joined the Hawkeye Sports Medicine Staff in June 2025 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with Track & Field/XC. Prior to coming to Iowa, she spent two years with the University of South Dakota Track & Field/XC teams. Prior to her time at USD she spent one year working in the industrial setting in Everett, WA for Work-Fit taking care of engineers and mechanics that assembled Boeing airplanes.
She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Luther College in 2015. She then worked as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation technician for 3 years in outpatient and inpatient neurological rehabilitation settings at Mayo Clinic and EA Therapeutic Health in Rochester, MN. In 2018 she went to Winona State University in Winona, MN where she received a second bachelor’s degree in Movement Science and then her master’s in athletic training.
Halle is BOC certified, licensed by the Iowa Board of Athletic Training, and CPR/BLS certified by the American Red Cross. She is a member of NATA and CATS. She is also trained and certified in Dry Needling, Graston Technique M1, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Kinesiology Taping, and Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid.
