Jason Vorwerk

Biography

Vorwerk joined the University of Iowa sports medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer for football in the summer of 2022.

Vorwerk earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Exercise and Sport Science from Iowa State University in 2004.  He was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Northern Illinois University working with the football and wrestling teams.  Vorwerk earned a Masters of Science degree in Sport Management in 2006 from NIU.

Before joining the Hawkeyes’ staff, Vorwerk worked as an athletic trainer at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.  While there, he worked with the soccer, basketball, and baseball teams while also serving as a clinical assistant professor and academic advisor.

Vorwerk is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.  He is certified in First Aid & CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer as well as Graston Technique and is a Red Cross CPR/AED Instructor.  A native of Burlington, Iowa, he resides in Iowa City with his wife, Erin.
