Jennie Sertterh

Director of Athletic Training Services
Biography

Sertterh serves as the Director of Athletic Training Services beginning in this role in 2022. She had previously served as the women's basketball and women’s golf athletic trainer for 24 seasons. Sertterh, a native of Eldora, Iowa, attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and graduated with a bachelor's in science degree in athletic training in 1996.  She was then a graduate assistant, covering softball and cheerleading, and earned her masters of education with an emphasis in athletic administration from the University of Nebraska in 1998. Prior to coming to Iowa, Sertterh worked for a year at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri.
 
Sertterh is certified through the National Athletic Trainers’ Board of Certification and licensed through the Iowa Department of Public Health.  She is a clinical supervisor for the Athletic Training Education Program and an adjunct instructor for the Health and Human Physiology Department.  She is a member of the NATA, IATS and MAATA. Sertterh holds certifications in Spine and Lower Extremity ART, Graston Technique, FMS-II, and First Aid/CPR/ AED for the Professional Rescuer.  She is an instructor for the American Red Cross for FA/CPR/AED.

Sertterh resides in Coralville with her sons, Jaryn (15) and Riley (13).
